Aloo Raita Recipe The Crunchy & Delicious Side Dish

Aloo Raita recipe is an easy to make side dish from North India. It consists nutrients as well along with being the yummy recipe. As the name recommends, the ingredients utilized in the raita are curd & potatoes. The potatoes are loades with starch & carbohydrates, the curd is the resource of calcium. In meantime, the red chilli powder & cumin seeds applies the flavor into the dish. Have the delicious and also unique raita in potluck, buffet & in the time of summer with your beloved ones. 

Raitas always includes something special into the dish. And on any hot summer day, raitas are preferable as they cool down body heat. Some more raita variants are there along with this to have with main meal.

This Aloo raita goes well with sabji, rice & roti. Including the onions in dish depends upon the personal choice, but as you would see it does add extra zing & crunch into the recipe.

Ingredients of Aloo Raita:
  • potato-2 
  • red chilli powder-1/3 tsp
  • black pepper-1/3 tsp
  • Curd (yoghurt)-1 1/2 cup
  • water as needed
  • salt as needed
  • vegetable oil-1/2 tsp
  • cumin seeds-2/3 tsp

For Garnishing:

handful coriander leaves-1 

Preparation of Aloo Raita:

1) Put potatoes in a pressure cooker, pour sufficient water in it, & boil the potatoes for like ten to twelve mins. When it’s boiled, drain the extra water & let the potatoes cool. Then slice the potatoes in little pieces.

2) In meantime, beat the curd into soft continuity in a big bowl. Then drop the  potato pieces, salt & mix finely.

3) Put a frying pan with moderate heat & pour oil in it. When the oil is heated, drop pepper, red chilli powder & cumin seeds. Stir the mixture for one or two mins. Drop this mix to the potato curd mixture.

4) Decorate with coriander leaves. Combine every components well. Aloo Raita is now ready to be distributed!
